  Notes	van L. Paulsen, 91, of Holcombe, WI passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2017 surrounded by family at the Cornell Area Care Center in Cornell, WI. Ivan was born on January 25, 1926 at the Engel farm in the Town of Wheaton, Chippewa County, WI. He was the first born child of Herman and Ferne (Engel) Paulsen. Ivan attended and graduated from the Holcombe Public Schools. Ivan was united in marriage to Betty Wentworth on June 30, 1947 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Following their marriage, they raised their 3 children on the family farm east of Holcombe. Ivan was a hard worker and dedicated farmer. He took pride in his crops, machinery, and buildings. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also enjoyed playing on a local pool team until the age of 90. Ivan was a charter member of the Lake Holcombe Lions Club and received the Melvin Jones Fellowship award in 2007. He was also a past member of the Masons, served on the Chippewa County Board of Supervisors, and the Holcombe Town Board during his lifetime. He is survived by his Children - Rog (Mary) Paulsen of Holcombe, Deb (Kenny) Kostick of Holcombe, and Nikki (Steve Phillips) Sturino of Kenosha, Grandchildren - Ryan Paulsen, Renee (Paul) DeLaria, Randy (Dorie) Paulsen, Michelle (Tony) Gietman, Wendy (Chris) Popp, and Anthony (Elie) Sturino, Step Grandchildren - Randy (Lynn) Kostick and Wendy (Jamie Warner) Kostick, 10 Great Grandchildren, 2 step Great Grandchildren and 5 step Great-Great Grandchildren. He is also survived by Sisters - Donna Anderson, Katherine Hansen, Rosella Paulsen, and Elva Kay (Dave) Wiles. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years Betty, a daughter in infancy Linda, his parents, and a brother Wayne, who was killed in action in Korea in 1951.
