- In the 1920 census, she was living with her uncle Reier and his family in Clackamas County.
Margaret Wormdahl Fincher was born February 10, 1906, to John and Hannah Wormdahl, in Monitor, Oregon. Her mother passed away before she was five years old, leaving three girls. Margaret was then raised by her uncle and aunt, Reier and Annie Lima, until she was 11 years old. Margaret was baptized and confirmed at the Nidaros Lutheran Church in Monitor. After living with her aunt and uncle, she kept house for her father. They lived in Yoder before moving to Silverton.
Margaret married Amos Fincher on May 20, 1945 in Silverton. They moved to Salem in 1968. Amos passed away on April 7, 1984. Margaret was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church and the Salvation Army Home League. She loved to entertain and do fancy work.
Margaret is survived by one step-daughter, Violet Hammond of Redmond; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her step-son, Glenn Fincher; and step-daughter, Pansy Stanton; two sisters, Helga Norris and Hedvig Satrum.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 2 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 1998 Lansing Ave., Salem. Burial will be at Miller Cemetery, Silverton. Arrangements by Howell-Edwards-Doerksen with Rigdon-Ransom Funeral Directors, Salem.
