The next entry on the census sheet was the Lee family: John and Rakel. From this census, we learn that Reier, Annie, and Ludwig cam to the U.S. in 1894. Reier and Annie had been married only a year. Rakel came in 1893.
In the 1910 census, he was a farmer in Clackamas County, Oregon. His household consisted of “Rier”, 41, Anna L., 40, Elsa M., 7, and his mother, Marie, 71. The household also seems to include his wife’s brother’s family.
In the 1920 census, he and his wife and daughter still live in Killin, Clackamas County. Their household still includes the hired hand and also includes Marget Wormdahl, niece, age 13.
In the 1930 census, Reier and Annie lived on a farm in the Killin precinct with their three Moen granddaughters. The girls’ father had been born in Minnesota.
In the 1940 census, Reier and Annie, now 71 and 70 years old, lived on a farm in the Killin precinct with their three Moen granddaughters and a hired man. This was the same house that they all had lived in in 1935 and it was worth $1000.
