In the 1930 census, she and her son John live on a farm on the Fort Snelling Road. John is shown as the owner and head of household. They have a hired man, Bert Engstrom, living with them. In the 1940 census, she and her son John live in Bloomington. They are listed a few lines down on the census form from Carl and Mardelle Zeck. John is the head of household and owner of the residence. John’s occupation is proprietor, riding academy. Her will, which apparently left the Bloomington farm to her daughter, resulted in the deaths of her daughter, her daughter’s husband, and her younger son, John.
