An article in the Minneapolis Sunday Tribune, 15 Nov 1914, p. 11:
Farmer is Stricken in Buggy
John Le Borius, Bloomington Township, Who Defied Sheriff, Dies Suddenly
John Le Borius, a farmer of Bloomington Township, died suddenly yesterday while driving his buggy home yesterday. Members of the Meadowbrook Gun Club saw the rig stop in front of the clubhouse yesterday. When they could not see the driver, they investigated and found the body. The coroner said he died of heart trouble.
Two years ago, Le Borius and several Bloomington farmers leaped into momentary fame when they defied Sheriff Langum and his deputies when they sought to prevent them from spearing fish in an overflow from the Minnesota River on the Meadowbrook Club’s grounds. The club got an injunction to restrain Le Borius and his neighbors. Le Borius threatened armed resistance. For several days, deputy sheriffs camped in the clubhouse to ward off any invasion by the poachers.
