Notes |
- He was the defendant in several Washington County District Court cases between 1839 and 1842, all involving debt, unpaid rent, or covenants broken.
He was called Royal Machusick in the 1850 census. At that time he and his family lived in Pembroke in Washington County, Maine. Royal was a farmer.
He is probably the Royal McKusick, 1808-1855, buried at Fairview Cemetery in Stillwater. There is a photograph of his gravestone, but not an entry for his burial, in Find A Grave. (The associated entry for the photograph is for his grandson Royal.)
Royal’s half-brother, John McKusick, was one of the founders of the city of Stillwater. The U.S. District Court held some of its sessions in John McKusick’s storeroom.
