  Notes	In the 1891 Duluth city directory, he was Andrew Grande (in big letters), Grocer, 13 1st Av E, res 1201 W Michigan. Declared bankruptcy in Duluth on 19 Mar 1894. According to the 1900 census, he came to the U.S. in 1882. He was one of three plaintiffs who sued Andrew and Annie Everson in 1903 over land in Cook County resulting in a sheriff’s sale in Grand Marais. According to the 1910 census, he came to the U.S. in 1882. The 1915 Virginia city directory (included with Hibbing) features a fraction-of-a-page advertisement (top of p. 246) for “Andrew Grande, 101 Spruce, Wholesale Cement, Plaster, Sash and Doors, Lumber, etc.” In the 1920 census, he and his family lived in Virginia. He was the owner of a lumber company. According to that census, he came to the U.S. in 1880. His wife’s 1920 passport application asserts that he came to the U.S. in April of 1882 aboard the Parisian, which had sailed from Liverpool, and that he became a naturalized citizen in Duluth on November 6, 1895.
