Margaret Oline (Klefstad) Ellingboe
Ellingboe Margaret Oline (Klefstad) Ellingboe was born in Chinook, MT on August 25, 1912 to Martin & Hattie Klefstad. She grew up in Scott County, MN and attended St. Cloud State Teachers College. Her first teaching job was in a rural schoolhouse in Scott County where she met Arthur Ellingboe. She and Arthur were married on June 17, 1936 and farmed in rural Scott and Dakota counties. Margaret and Arthur moved from the farm to Northfield in 1948 and later to their long time home in Waterford where they raised their two sons, Richard and John. Margaret continued to teach school in Castle Rock, Randolph and Greenvale Elementary in Northfield. She retired from teaching in 1977. Margaret died on Thursday, May 29, 2003 at the Northfield Care Center at the age of 90. She is survived by sons, Richard (Debera) of Eugene, OR and John (Catherine Cella) of Edina, MN; grandchildren, Michael (Monica), Deborah (Don Heeman), Stephen (Lisa), Christopher, Peter, Mary, Sarah, and Anna Ellinboe; great- grandchildren, Austin and Collin Ellinboe; sister, Helen Hill; sisters-in-law, Anna and Veola Ellingboe, Beulah (Lloyd) Luckman, Helen Henry, Evelyn (Gaylord) Horwath; brother-in-law, John Menne; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur, who died in January of this year; her parents; and her sister, Ruth. Funeral Services will be 1 PM Saturday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Northfield. Burial at Red Rose Cemetery. Visitation Friday from 6:30-8 PM at the Northfield Care Center Chapel. Arrangements by the Bierman Funeral Home, Northfield.

The Rev. John Quam officiated at the funeral. Ruth Ferguson was the organist. Pallbearers were Richard, John, Peter, Deborah, and Marry Ellingboe and Don Heeman.
The 1960 Northfield city directory shows Mrs. Margaret Ellingboe as a teacher at Castle Rock School. In the 1972 city directory, she is a teacher at Greenvale Park School.

She married Arthur Ellingboe June 17, 1936, and farmed in rural Scott and Dakota counties. They moved from the farm to Northfield in 1948 and later to their long time home in Waterford. Margaret continued to teach school in Castle Rock, Randolph and Greenvale Elementary in Northfield. She retired from teaching in 1977. During retirement, they spent a number of winters in Arizona. Ellingboe is survived by two sons, Richard (Debera)of Eugene, Ore, and John (Catherine Cella)of Edina; eight grandchildren, Michael (Monica), Deborah (Don Heeman), Stephen (Lisa), Christopher, Peter, Mary, Sarah and Anna Ellingboe; two great-grandchildren, one sister, Helen Hill; five sisters-in-law, Anna and Veola Ellingboe, Beulah (Lloyd)Luckman, Helen Henry, and Evelyn (Gaylord) Horwath; one brother-in-law, John Menne; and many other relatives and friends.
