Mr. Little was born June 11, 1935, in Hibbing, Minn., and was the son of the late Fred Wellington Little and Mildred Susan Plummer Little. He was a firefighter for 16 years with the Fairfax County Fire Department. He was a member of Luray United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. On Oct. 21, 1989, he married Opel Alice Little; she survives in Luray. Also surviving are a son, Richard Henry Little Jr. of Stuart, Fla.; a stepson, Douglas Canete of California; two daughters, Patricia Susan (Little) Acampora of Abingdon and Debbie (Little) Coffin of Gladstone; a stepdaughter, Donna (Canete) Taylor of Raleigh, N.C.; a brother, James Wellington Little of Rockville, Md.; three granddaughters, Megan Laurel Coffin of Gladstone and Ashley Acampora and Kristen Acampora, both of Abingdon, and a stepgranddaughter, Allison Canete Taylor of Raleigh, N.C.
