  Notes	In the 1900 census, he and Martha and their two boys lived on Lyndale Avenue North in Minneapolis. He had no occupation. In the 1910 census, he and Martha and the boys still lived on Lyndale Avenue North in Minneapolis. Ernest had an automobile repair shop. Living with them were Arthur and Lydia Bonnin, “brother” and “sister” and a roomer named Louis Archer. In the 1920 census, he and Martha lived in Morristown in Rice County. He had no occupation. In the 1930 census, he and Bertha and his granddaughter Dorothy live on Lyndale Avenue North in Minneapolis. He has an automobile repair shop. His parents were born in Germany. In the 1940 census, he and Bertha lived in Barclay Twp in Cass County in the same house in which they’d lived in 1935. He was a farmer. Both he and Bertha had an eighth- grade education. The informant for the information in his death certificate was not named. Ernest was a farmer who lived in Pine River. He died from tetanus resulting from frostbite or frozen toes and hands.
