      LANGEVIN ?David George ?May 4, 1944 - June 3, 2009 ??Dave passed away, peacefully at home on June 3, 2009 of Mesothelioma. Quietly but courageously fought. His wife Shannon of 42 years survives him. Also, their two son's Ken (Randelle) of Quesnel and Marc (Julie) of Comox who were his pride and joy. His 4 granddaughters, the bright lights of his life, Emma, Ava, Jessica and brooke. He is also survived by his mother Christina Langevin of Winnipeg, sisters June Gary (Richard) Winnipeg, Darlene Schroeder (Tim) Winnipeg, Shirley Kostuik (Arnold) Saskatoon, Loretta Wallace, Calgary, Chris McKay (Bill) Winnipeg, his brothers Ken Langevin (Linda), Mike Langevin (Lorraiine) both of Winnipeg, his mother-in-law Madeline Kenny, Victoria, as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family. Predeceased by his father George Langevin and his father-in-law Tom Kenny.
      ?Dave was born in Grantowne-on-Spey, Scotland and came to Canada with his mom on the Queen Mary in 1946 to the family home in Saskatoon. The family moved to Winnipeg in his teen years and then to B.C. in 1965 where he met Shannon. He started his telephone career of 35 years with Canadian Telephone & Supply and later transferred to B.C. Tel.
      ?Dave had a great love of the outdoors, enjoying camping, fishing, skiing, hunting and sailing with family and friends. The love of travel took DAve and shannon to many parts of the world, his favorite being Maui and where he and Shannon spent many hours enjoying the beaches.
      ?Dave was a past member of the Courtenay Rotary Club and a Paul Harris Fellow, a trustee for the Sandwick Water District, a member of the Adaptive Snow Sports on Mt. Washington where he taught disabled skiers for over 25 years, Comox Sailing Club, the Miki'siw Metis Association, and the Courtenay Fish and Game Club. Also, a past leader for the Tsolum Scout and Venture Troop to spend more time and adventures with his sons. A highlight being the Canadian Scout Jamboree in PEI. ?The family would like to thank all their friends and family, near and far for all the love and caring through this journey. Special thanks go out to Dr. John Fitzpatrick and staff at the Courtenay Medical Clinic for their help, concern and home visits.
