Thompson, 45, of 231 S. 60th Ave. W., died Monday at home after a long illness. A native of Duluth, he retired this year from the Minn Tac plant after 21 years with U.S. Steel Corp. He also worked for more than 30 years with Dick Schmauss Car Cleaners Service in Duluth. He was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Parish. He is survived by his wife Patricia, two daughters, Debbie Johnson and Tammy Jo Thompson, both of Duluth, and three sons, Anthony R. of Jacksonville, Florida, Michael R. of St. Paul, and George “Joey” of Duluth. He is also survived by two sisters, Rose Stewart of Esko and Ursula Karlen of Blaine, and a brother Frank Thompson of Colorado Springs. He is also survived by his mother Frances Thompson of Duluth and three grandchildren.
