  Notes	In the 1910 census he is Valentine Gary. He and his wife farm in Magisterial District 4, Butler County, Kentucky. Nearby are many Bryant families including Jasper and Dora and Jasper’s parents. Valentine’s household consists of himself, 37, Rosenie, 36, Azro, a son, 18, Dora A, 15, Cletus, 12, Victoria, 9, Elzora, a daughter, 6, Enis, 6 months, and an adopted son named Andrew who is a year-and-a-half old. Everyone and their parents were born in Kentucky. In the 1920 census, he is Tine Gary, a 47 year-old widower living in the Reedyville precinct of Butler County, not far from Nathan and Jennie Bryant. His death certificate, for Valentine Gary, shows that he died in “rural Jetson” in Butler County. He was a merchant. He died of arthritic rheumatism. His wife was Carrie Geary, age 57. The Kentucky death index shows another Valentine Geary dying in Jefferson County on 26 Mar 1953. His residence was Grayson County. That Valentine Geary was a widower and had been born on July 16, 1873, in Grayson County to James Geary and Rebecca Litsey. That Valentine Geary died of burns caused by an exploding stove in his chicken house.
