  Notes	In the 1930 census, he is Erling B Saxhaug, a “government engineer” living in Washington, D.C. He received a bachelor of law degree from Georgetown University in 1934. Erling B. Saxhaug, 31 (b. 28 Mar 1906 in Minneapolis), arrived in New York on 24 August 1937, aboard the S.S. Ile de France which had sailed from Liverpool on August 18th. He was arriving with his wife Henrietta A., 27 (b. 25 Nov 1909 in Washington D.C.). The couple’s address was 4868 Chevy Chase Blvd, Chevy Chase, Maryland. Arriving with them, probably her parents, were Frederick W., 51, and Ella M., 52, Schneider, also of Chevy Chase, Maryland. According to Judy, Erling was educated at the University of Minnesota as an engineer and later as an attorney. He spent his working life as a patent attorney in Washington, DC.
