He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a lieutenant in the Portland Fire Bureau. He lived in Portland from 1926 to 1978, when he retired and moved to Seaside. He married Ethel in 1970; she died in 1995. Survivors include his son, Michael A.; brothers, James and Ronald; and one grandchild. Disposition is by cremation. The family suggests remembrances to the American Diabetes Association.
