  Notes	Cemetery records show that he was a Master Sergeant in the U.S. Army and a Korean War veteran. Other records show him as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force in Korea. His obituary was published on p. 03:3 of the November 21, 1973, edition of the Duluth News-Tribune. He died in a Duluth hospital but he lived in Aitkin. He was survived by his wife Angeline, and by three sons (Douglas Jr., Mark, and Steven) and two daughters (Tammy and Lynn), all five of whom were still at home. He was also survived by both of his parents and by four sisters and four brothers.
