In the 1919 St. Paul city directory, Margery Gustad was a student nurse at Bethesda Hospital.
Not living with her parents at the time of the 1920 census. In that census, she was 22 year-old Margaret Gustad, a lodger, living in St. Paul with no occupation.
In the 1921 and 1922 St. Paul city directories, Margaret Gustad was a stenographer/clerk for Bradstreet Co and boarded at 618 Dayton Avenue.
In the 1927 and 1928 St. Paul city directories, she was Margery Gustad, a surgical nurse at Bethesda Hospital.
In the 1929 Minneapolis city directory, she may be the Margt Gustad, student, living at 325 6th Avenue S E, apartment 12.
In the 1930 census, she was Marjorie Gustad (indexed as “Guitard”), a 32 year-old single registered nurse living in St. Paul.
In the 1930 and 1931 and 1932 and 1933 St. Paul city directories, she was Margery Gustad, nurse, Bethesda Hospital.
At the time of her mother’s WPA interview in June of 1937, she and Knute lived in Ft. Peck, Montana.
At the time of her father’s WPA interview in the spring of 1939, she and Knute lived in Los Angeles.
In the 1940 census, Marjorie and Knute lived with Annett Brett at 3447 Elliott Avenue in Minneapolis. Knute had an eighth-grade education, Marjorie had had one year of college. Knute was a foreman carpenter for a construction company. Marjorie had no occupation. Five years earlier, the couple had lived in Glascow, Valley County, Montana.
The July 13, 1946, edition of the Brainerd newspaper mentions that “Mr. and Mrs. Knute Johnson and son Rholf of Minneapolis spent the weekend at Mrs. Annie Everson’s.”
Margaret, Knute, and Rolf attended Anna Bye Everson’s funeral.
Death information shown is for Margery G. Johnson, mother’s name Junge.
Her sister Agnes was the informant for her death certificate. Marge had been a surgical specialist. She died of unknown causes. A stroke from diabetes was suspected.
