Julie’s father would leave for America seven-and-a-half weeks later. Died of diphtheria shortly after arriving in Fergus Falls. Died at the age of 5 according to her mother’s obituary. Also according to that obit, Julie and Berntine died within two weeks of their arrival in Fergus Falls.
