According to the 1961 Scott County plat book, he owned property in Section 5 of New Market Twp. He and his wife Mary lived in New Market Twp in the 1930 census. They had no children. Living with them were her mother, Thea Markuson, an 84 year-old widow, and her sister, Rachel Markuson, a 47 year-old spinster. In the 1940 census, Oscar, Mary, and Rachel lived in the same house in New Market Twp in which they lived in 1935. Oscar was a farmer.
