  Notes	In the 1915 Duluth city directory, he was a foreman for the D&IRRR and lived at 5131 Glendale. Living in Gordon, Douglas County, Wisconsin, in the 1920 census, in the 1930 census and at the time of Martin Bye’s death. Ernest is a farmer in the 1920 census but is shown as a manager of a gas station in the 1930 census. In the 1940 census, he was an agent for Standard Oil. He and Alma and their family lived in Gordon. His mother’s maiden name is shown as Wold on his death certificate. Alma was at least his second wife. He had several children by an earlier wife, Lillian Bassett, who died a couple of years before he married Alma.
