They lived in the same house in which they had lived in 1935. Only Claude was employed and making appreciable money. Charles was usually a budding and grafting foreman for a “ranch forest trees and vines.” Gurene worked as a packer in a packing house. Claude was a bookkeeper and salesman in a jewelry store. Charles had had 2 years of college, Gurena had been educated only through the fourth grade. Claude was a high school graduate. His parents were William T Preston and Mary O Orr.
