  Notes	His obit: Charles B. Simonson, 82, of Grand Meadow, died Monday, Nov. 15, 2004, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester. Charles was born on Sept. 6, 1922, in rural Grand Meadow. He attended Grand Meadow School, then joined the Army during World War II serving in the Pacific Theatre. After the war Charles returned to Grand Meadow and on Nov. 14, 1948, he married Norma Jean Lamp in Grand Meadow. They raised children. Chuck worked in the Grand Meadow area throughout his life, most recently for the Osmundson Bros. of Adams. He loved to work and he greatly enjoyed the men that he worked with. He loved the Grand Meadow area, always referring to it as "God's Country." He was always friendly and outgoing, he loved to talk to people and always greeted them with a smile. His greatest joy in life was being a grandfather. Charles is survived by his wife Norma, Grand Meadow; four children: Deborah Betts, Milwaukee, Wis.; Scott (Debbie) Simonson, Waseca, Minn.; Holly (Dawn) Simonson, Blandon, Pa.; and Thomas Simonson, Big Bend, Wis.; eight grandchildren; one brother: Curtis (Trudie) Simonson, Spring Valley; and one sister: Vernice (Phil) Stier, Grand Meadow. He was preceded in death by his parents, son-in-law Ray and brother Everette. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 18, 2004, at the Bear Creek Lutheran Church in Frankford Township, Mower County, with the Rev. David Simerson officiating. Burial will be at the Bear Creek Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2004, at the Hindt Funeral Home in Grand Meadow and one hour prior to the service at the church.
