  Notes	His birth certificate was amended on October 6, 1943, to add his first and middle names (from “Babe”). Rhodes and his family were living with his wife’s brother in an apartment on Chicago Avenue in Minneapolis at the time of the 1930 census. Also living in the same apartment building, apparently, was Mae Christy’s father and his new young wife. In the 1940 census, Rhodes and May, along with her children Howard, Barbara, Rhodes and Duane, lived in Richfield on the “east side of Portland Avenue South between Hwys 52 & 53.” Rhodes was a truck driver for a retail milk company. He was a high school graduate, May had an eighth-grade education. His wife’s brother George and his family lived next door. County Road 53 is 66th Street. The reference to County Road 52 probably means 61st Street.
