An Anders Olsen Jome left Vang on 7 Jul 1852. Emigrated in 1854. Farmed in Liberty Twp, Manitowoc County in 1870, as Andrew Oleson. Moved to Lessor Twp, Shawano County. In the 1880 census, he was Andrew J. Olson living in Maple Grove Twp, Shawano County. In that census, none of Gjertrud’s children were at home. In the column related to health, Andrew Sr. and Mary had “very sore 2 yrs.” In the 1900 census, he was Andrew Jommen, still living in Maple Grove Twp. The younger Andrew is still living at home with his parents. Also in the household is Emma M., 13 (b. Nov 1886), and called “daughter.” Because Sissel is unlikely to have had a child at age 56, Emma must be an adopted granddaughter.
