In the burial records at Fort Snelling, and in the MHS death records, his birth date is shown as August 17, 1890. In the 1900 census, he is shown as 10 years old and born in August of 1889. He was a Private in the U.S. Army in World War I. The MHS death index has his mother’s maiden name as Oldne.
