- A 1912 land ownership map of Lake George Twp, Charles Mix County, South Dakota, shows an “O. W. Ellingboe” owning a 160 acre parcel, the northwest corner of Section 33.
In a 1914 land ownership atlas of Martin Twp, Rock County, Minnesota, “O W Ellingboe” owned an 80 acre parcel adjoining, and complementing, the two 80 acre parcels owned by “W O Ellingboe.”
Single and now head of the farm in the 1920 census. Living with him are his mother and sisters Bertha and Ida. The farm above his on the census sheet is Hans Nerison’s.
In the 1930 census, he is probably the Ole W. Ellingboe living on the Hans Nerison farm in Hills Village, Rock County. He is a farm laborer. He is erroneously shown as 51 years old (actually he was 61).
In the 1940 census, he is Ole W Ellingboe, a 71 year-old single man living in Hills. He’s a church janitor. He earned $200 in 1939. Ole had an 8th grade education.
In the 1950 census, he is a resident at the Bethesda Home for the Aged in Lincoln County, South Dakota.
