Vince was born Sept. 25, 1937, to Samuel and Edna (Anderson) Kilde. He spent his childhood in Fergus Falls, Minn., where he was confirmed and graduated from high school. As a young man, Vince owned his own business as a plastering, drywall and stucco contractor, where he remained for many years sharing his talents.
Vince began his military career in 1954, when he enlisted in the Army Reserve in Minnesota. He proudly served his country for 22 years and retired from the North Dakota National Guard in 1987. In 1966, Vince met, fell in love and married his wife and best friend of 42 years, Sandra. Together they parented seven children, which were his pride and joy. In 1982, he moved his family to Hazen, where he worked at Basin Electric until his retirement in 1999.
Vince enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, yard work, traveling and spending every day with his wife and family. He will be remembered for his big genuine smile, loud true laughter, easy-going nature and for being a friend to all.
Fortunate to have shared his life are his wife and soul mate, Sandra; his children, Teresa Carrigan, Bismarck, Bradley Kilde and his wife, Kristi, Glen Ullin, Lisa Layton and her husband, William, Hazen, Steven Kilde and his wife, Melissa, Bismarck, Stacee McLaughlin and her husband, Curtis, Beulah, Jodi Hales and her husband, Danny, Supply, N.C., and Jason Kilde and his wife, Hollee, St. Cloud, Minn. Vince also leaves a daughter from a previous marriage, Cindy Barry, Wisconsin; his grandchildren James, Michael, and Joseph Hilligas; one great-granddaughter, Jazmine Hilligas; and his brother, Vernon, California. Also missing him will be his trusted four-legged friend, Pugsley.
He joins in heaven his father, Sam; his mother, Edna; and his sister, Yvonne.
Vince touched many lives during his time on earth and he will be sadly missed by all.
