Notes |
- She seems to have divorced Hans and married Henry Mack. In the 1900 census, Nellie is shown as “daughter” of Henry and Mary Mack. In the 1905 census she was a boarder. In the 1900 census, Mary is shown to have had one child, and to have been married for 13 years to Henry. However, Mary Mack is also shown to have come to the U.S. in 1886 which would seem to rule out her being the mother of Ella and Gustave. However, the ELCA church records confirm that she, as Marie Amelia Johnson, was the mother of Gustav and Nellie. Wisconsin Births and Christenings confirms that she was the mother of Ella.
In the 1901-1902 La Crosse city directory, Henry Mack “wks S&K Mfg Co” and resides at 1631 Winnebago.
Marie A Mack (1858-1936) and Henry Mack (1854-1932) are buried at Oak Grove Cemetery in La Crosse.
