He was survived by four sisters: Mary Bartlett of San Jose, California, Betty Lode of Memphis, Carol Budde of El Cajon, California, and Phyllis Larson of Bingham Lake, Minnesota. His surviving brother was David of Osyka, Mississippi.

He had two grandchildren.
