In the 1940 census, he and Alice were still in Wausau, living at the home they owned at 618 2nd Avenue N. The house was the same one they had lived in five years earlier and it was worth $4500. Ronald was a laborer at the Rothschild Paper Mill. He earned $1574 in 1939. He had had one year of high school and Alice was a high school graduate. They had no children.

He was living in Minneapolis at the time of his brother Olaf’s death.

Roe, Marion Robert age 91 of Plymouth, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2015. Preceded in death by sister, Leola Grand; sister-in-law, Helen Roe. Survived by daughters, LeAnn Roe, Jody Roe and their mother, Audrey L. Roe; beloved granddaughter, Casey (Kurt) Elden; brothers, David (Audrey H.) Roe, Richard Lee Roe; many nieces, nephews and special friends. Marion was a graduate of Roosevelt High School and Augsburg College. He served in the US Navy/ Reserves for 38 years and retired after 42 years with Burlington Northern Railroad. Memorial service 11 AM Monday, July 20 with visitation beginning at 10 AM, Oak Knoll Lutheran Church, Minnetonka.

His daughter, who was the informant for his death certificate, knew that Marion’s mother’s maiden name was Augustine.
