7771 Harriet L. Holscher, 89, of Cambridge, formerly of Minneapolis passed away Friday, September 16, 2011 at Mt. Olivet Careview Home in Minneapolis. Beloved wife, mother and grandmother. 

Harriet was born on May 12, 1922 in Grand Meadow, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her parents Oscar and Nora Skogstad, husband William Holscher, six brothers and one sister.

Harriet is survived by her daughters Lorraine and husband Larry Sarek of Cook, Minn., Kathleen Holscher of Minneapolis, grandson Jesse Holscher of St. Paul, sister Katherine Tackelson of Brook Park, as well as numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, September 24, 2011 at the Carlson-Lillemoen Funeral Home in Cambridge with Rev. David Everett officiating. A reception will follow the service at the funeral home. Private interment at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. Arrangements are with the Carlson-Lillemoen Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Cambridge.

In the 1930 census, she was the wife of Claus Opsvig of Minot where Claus was a credit manager for a roofing company.

7774 Harry G. Martinson, 89, a resident of Broen Memorial Home and formerly of Rothsay, died Monday, July 20, 1992, at Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls.

He was born July 26, 1907, in Tanberg Township, rural Rothsay, the son of Jens and Mathilda (Engleson) Martinson. He was baptized and confirmed at Hamar Lutheran Church of Rothsay. He grew up and attended school in Tanberg Township.

On Aug. 30, 1939, he married Viola Toso at South Immanuel Lutheran Church of rural Rothsay. The couple lived in the Rothsay area, and he was self-employed as a truck driver. Mr. Martinson had been a resident of the Broen Home for five years.
He was a member of Hamar Lutheran Church, where he served as treasurer for several years.

Survivors include his wife, Viola; three sons, Gene of Underwood, Ron of Hutchinson and Tim of Worland, Wyo.; two daughters, Sharon Deitschman of Willmar and Bonnie (Mrs. Henry) Lankow of Vinton, Iowa; a brother, Lester of Rothsay; six sisters, Anna Cookman, Effie Rix, and Junith Christenson, all of Fergus Falls, Esther Martinson of Rothsay, Ruby Anderson of Corvallis, Ore., and Ella (Mrs. Harold) Gessling of Mechanicsville, Iowa; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation: Friday from 4 to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service
Service: 2 p.m. Saturday at Hamar Lutheran Church, Rothsay

7776 Harry William Lockrem passed away on December 3, 2022, of leukemia. The first born of Austin Lockrem and Louise (Ruff) on July 31, 1949, he is survived by his mother, siblings Ann Albert, Richard (Donna) Lockrem, and Lori (Todd) Smith, wife Linda Lange, cherished nephews, cousins, and extended family.

A 1967 graduate of Northfield High School, Harry went on to graduate from Pipestone Technical College and Augsburg College. Harry enlisted in the Air Force and served from 1968 to 1972 at locations including Vietnam, Thailand, Japan, the Philippines, South Korea, and North Dakota. Harry retired from the State of Minnesota Dept. of Veterans Affairs.

Harry loved to ride motorcycles, was a Road Marshall for the TT Races on the Isle of Man and rode from Northfield to Anchorage in 1981. Researching his family history back hundreds of years, Harry visited cousins in England and Norway. A gentle soul with a sense of humor and profound respect for others, he will be missed.

7778 Harvey C. Sprowl passed away at age 81 on April 19, 2007 at Valley Care Center in Okanogan, Wash. after a long battle with cancer.

Harvey was the third of seven children born to William and Ella Frances (Lee) Sprowl on November 20, 1925 in Omak, Wash. Harvey graduated from Omak High School in 1943. He enlisted in the Navy on September 13, 1943 and served with the Marines as a Medical Corpman and was honorable discharged on April 21, 1946. He then worked in construction for many years.

On February 3, 1951 Harvey and Donna Joan Rumburg of Bridgeport, Wash. were married in Omak, Wash. where they made their home. They had six children, William currently of Northport, Wash., Jim currently of Alvin, Texas, Scott and Harvey currently of Omak, Wash., Craig (Angie) currently of Webster, Texas, and Heather (Brent) Johnson currently of Benbrook, Texas. Harvey also had three grandchildren, Kara Sprowl of Silverdale, Wash. and Stuart and Kailey Johnson of Benbrook, Texas.

Harvey is survived by his wife of 56 years, Donna Sprowl; his children; grandchildren; sisters, Margaret Johns of Lewiston, Idaho and Ruth (Ed) Piper of Dryden, Wash.; brothers-in-law, Darrell Carlton of Omak, Wash. and E.J. Schmidt of Omak, Wash.; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, William; mother, Ella; brother Herbert; sisters, Della Mae Haeberle, Mary Lou Schmidt and Dorothy Carlton.

At his request there will be no services.

In the 1930 census, he was a farmer in Viroqua Twp.

In the 1940 census, indexed properly in Family Search, he and his family lived in Viroqua Twp. He was a log hauler for a saw mill. Living at home were Agnes, Norman, Clinton, Rae Hope, and Eugene.
