Gladys B. (Gathje) Larson, 92, of Stewartville, died March 25, 2004, of natural causes at Stewartville Care Center.
She was born Nov. 19, 1911, in Vinton, Iowa. In 1915, the family moved to Stewartville, where Gladys graduated from high school in 1930. She then attended Winona State, received her teaching certificate then taught until her marriage.
On June 23, 1938, she married Glen Larson in Northwood, Iowa.
Gladys returned to teaching in 1963 at the Rossi School in rural Rochester until 1969. She returned to Winona State, receiving her bachelor of arts degree in 1971. She continued to teach until retiring in 1976. Gladys then worked in housekeeping for several years at the Stewartville Nursing Home.
She was a longtime member of St. John's Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid, and the Stewartville American Legion Auxiliary. She also belonged to the Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority and the Retired Educator Assn. of Minn. She volunteered with the Elder Network and was a member of the Stewartville Senior Citizens.
Gladys had lived at Stewartville Care Center since 2000.
She enjoyed reading and traveling.
Survivors include her children, David (Carol), Rochester; Philip (Sally), Minneapolis; John (Kathy), Huntington, W. Va.; Marlene (David) Aakre, Kasson; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Ronald (Helen), Rochester; sisters, Emily Winter, Rochester; Rachel Warren, Broten; Florence (Kenneth) Haack, San Diego, Calif.

Gladys Clark, formerly of Maynard, died on Monday, November 19, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Home in Waconia, MN at the age of 91. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, November 23, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at the Maynard Lutheran Church in Maynard with Rev. Tim Ehling and Rev. Paul Clark officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church on Friday.
Gladys Marie (Loe) Clark was born on August 25, 1921 in Maynard, MN to Gilbert and Josepha (Johnson) Loe. She was baptized and confirmed at Maynard Lutheran Church and graduated from Maynard High School in 1939. On November 8, 1942, she was united in marriage to Ed Clark at the Maynard Lutheran Church. They lived in Maynard until moving to Minneapolis in 1960. They returned to Maynard in 1968 and she made her home there until moving to Waconia in 2008. She was a life-long member of Maynard Lutheran Church and was active in its women’s groups and activities. She worked as the activities director at the Clara City Nursing Home for a number of years and belonged to the Green Feather Card Club. She enjoyed reading her Bible, quilting, embroidering, baking cookies, making lefse and especially pleasing her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ed in 1995; a sister, Bernice Lindeman and by six brothers: Irvin, Kenneth, Conrad, Lloyd, Harold and Donald Loe. | LOE, Gladys (I19732)

Gladys Noard, of Montevideo, died on Monday, March 29, 2010 at her home under the care of Hospice at the age of 89. Memorial Services will be conducted at Salem Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Ann Ward officiating. Gladys Clarissa (Hemsing)
Noard was born on June 24, 1920 to Christ and Genevieve (Rassmussen) Hemsing at the family home in Maynard, MN. She was baptized and confirmed at Maynard Lutheran Church and attended Maynard Public Schools.
n July 30, 1938 she was united in marriage to Leon "Red" Noard. They lived in Montevideo until 1977 when they moved to Lake Amelia. Red died in 1987 and Gladys remained at their lake home until her health forced her to move to Montevideo in 1997. Gladys worked at Hemstad's Greenhouse for many years and excelled in designing bouquets and corsages, primarily for weddings. She loved cooking, hunting, fishing and working in the outdoors doing lawn care and flower and vegetable gardening. Gladys was a good neighbor and a loving friend to all who knew her.
