According to Vang C, p. 92, only two of his children stayed in Norway. Nine emigrated to the U.S.

From his entry in Find A Grave, as created by Connie Ferris:

Ivar was born on the Kjøs farm, son of Torsten Ivarsen and Sigrid Johnsdatter. He was christened in the Hurum parish in Vang on 26 Oct 1834. Ivar married Ingeborg 28 Dec 1860 in Vang and they had eleven children. Nedre Kjøs had an earlier name similar to Lalim and that name was later used again on the farm. Ivar's children all used Lalim as a surname in America.

It is believed that all but 2 of Ivar's 11 children emigrated to America. Torstein (see link below) and his younger brother, Anders/Andris, both stayed in Norway, where they married and had children. Andris was born in 1882 and died in Bærum in 1963. His wife Johanne Marie Berg Lalim (1878-1939) is buried in Haslum gravlund. Their son, Ivar (1914-1974) also died in Bærum.

Gene Lloyd Sandmann, age 81 of Webster, MN, passed away at his home on February 25, 2019. Gene retired from the City Burnsville after 28 years. He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Gladys, and sister, Joyce McGowan. He survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Patricia (nee: Haugley); children, Lonnie (Vicky), Gary (Trish), Cheryl (Tom) Mukina and Michael Sandmann; 7 grandchildren, Missy, Derek, Wendy, Dylan, Chris, Rachel and Chelsea; 4 great grandchildren, Avery, Caden, Elena and Mila; sisters, Judy (Robert “Jerry”) Olsen, Lynn (LeRoy) Hedtke and Deborah (Donald) Malecha; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
