Gael E. Saxhaug, 73, Iron, died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 1995, in Virginia Regional Medical Center.
She was born in Hibbing, where she grew up and graduated from Hibbing High School. She attended Hibbing Junior College and the Northwest Institute in Minneapolis. On June 10, 1944, she married James Saxhaug in Hibbing. They lived in Virginia until 1947, when they moved to Iron. She was an X-ray technician and lab technician at the former L.P. Clinic and East Range Clinic. She was also a quality checker at the Cluett-Peabody Shirt Factory in Virginia until retiring. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and its Ladies Circle and Quilters Organization.
Her son, Gary, died in 1947. Her parents were George and Ethel Neff Grierson. She is survived by her husband, James; a daughter, Nancy Zini of Iron; a sister, Gwen Lennartson of Salt Lake City; two granddaughters; and a great-grandson. | GRIERSON, Gael Evonne (I15228)

Gandrud, Guida Luella age 100, a longtime resident of Glenwood. Our dear mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully on January 17, 2006 while taking a nap in her favorite chair. Funeral 2:30 PM Saturday, Glenwood Lutheran Church, with visitation for one hour prior. Survivors include son, Ron Gandrud of Plymouth; daughter- in-law, Liz Gandrud of Crystal; daughter, Connie (Duane) Shelden of Alexandria; grandchildren, Jennifer, Christopher, Cynthia, Michael, Jane, Jon & Catherine; great-grandchildren, Ryan, Brandon, Blake, Alex, James, Megan, Sophia, Matteo, William and Mia. Preceded in death by her loving husband, L. Clifford Gandrud; grandson, Thomas Steven Gandrud; parents, George and Christine Quale; siblings, Cora Feldman, Sadie Berg, Mabel Pederson, Olney Quale, Clayton Quale, Stella Hanson, Harold Quale & Obert Quale.
