Erick (“Erik”) and his family were living in Warsaw Township, Goodhue County, in the 1910 census. The family consisted of Erick, 33, his wife Johanna, 28, their daughter Ammanda, 4, their son Ivar, 2, and Erick’s mother Ambjor, 60. Johanna is shown to have had 2 children, both still living. Johanna and Erick had been married for 5 years.

He is probably the E. I. Ellingboe who is shown as owning 120 acres in Warsaw Twp, Goodhue County, in a 1914 land ownership atlas. His farm consists of two parcels: 1) an 80 acre parcel that is the eastern half of the northeast quarter of Section 29, and 2) a 40 acre parcel that is the southwest quarter of the southeast quarter of Section 20. The two parcels touch at a corner.

Registered for the draft on September 12, 1918, in Red Wing as Erick Ellingboe, born March 21, 1877, and living at Route #2, Dennison, Goodhue County. He is a farmer. His nearest relative is Mrs. Johanna Ellingboe of Route #2, Dennison. Erick is tall and of stout build. There is no entry for the color of his eyes or hair.

In the 1920 census, Erick (now spelled correctly) and his family are still living in Warsaw Township. The family consisted of Erick, 42, Johanna, 36, Ivar, 12, Edward, 9, and Erick 6. Living on the farm next door is a 14 year old servant girl name Gurianna Ellingbo. The handwriting is poor: that servant girl may be Amanda Ellingboe.

In the 1930 census, Erick (now spelled correctly) and his family were still living in Warsaw Township. The family consisted of Erick, 52, his wife Bertha J., 46, his mother Ambjor, 79, daughter Amanda B., 23, son Iver, 21, son Edward, 19, and son Erick J., 16. There is no entry in the column for how long Erick and Bertha had been married. Bertha J. is probably the same person as Johanna Ellingboe. Erick Jr.’s mother’s maiden name is shown, in his death certificate, as Svien.

Next door to Erick lived Ole Egland, wife Martha, and son Arthur A. who, apparently, later married Erick’s daughter Amanda.

He owned 1 share of the Nerstrand Farmers Mercantile and Elevator Company as of January of 1959.

Erick lived at 1911 13th Avenue S. in Minneapolis. At his death he had been retired for 11 years. He had been a real estate salesman.

The informant for the information on his death certificate was provided by Oscar E. Olson.

Erick died of flu and otitis midra purulant with pneumonia and meningitis as contributing factors.

In the 1880 census, Erick (as Erick B. Olson) is a 31 year-old saloon keeper. He and his 24 year-old wife Lena and his 1 month-old unnamed child live in Northfield. Living with them as a boarder is a 35 year-old single man born in Norway named Gilbert Gilbertson, a laborer.

Erick and his family lived in Minneapolis is the 1885 census.

In the 1895 census he is a widower living with his four children at 2626 17th Avenue South in Minneapolis. He and his family live on the first floor, another family lives on the second floor. Living with the family is 27 year-old Carrie Anderson, a “domestic”, who was born in Sweden. She may be Lena’s sister. Erick was a 43 year-old real estate dealer who had been in Minnesota for 16 years and in the current enumeration district for 4 months.

Erick met his death tragically in 1855 by being crushed under a falling tree and is buried at the Old Hauge Cemetery.

Erickson, Jean Gertrude Age 88, died on April 8, 2012. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Wallace Erickson and son-in- law, Lenny Lang. Survived by her children, Kristen Lang, Carla (Ed) Windhorst and Paul (Afsaneh) Erickson, and grandchildren, Aaron (Kelly) Lang, Michael Lang, Daniel Lang, David Erickson and Leah Erickson. Memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, April 13 at Valley of Peace Lutheran Church, 4735 Bassett Creek Drive, Golden Valley, MN 55422. Reception to follow service. Memorials preferred to Cornerstone Commons Assisted Living, Plymouth, MN or Courage Center in Golden Valley, MN.
