Darlene Laverne Olson Orsund Rustad, 79, of Bemidji, MN died Monday, January 4, 2016 at Sanford Bemidji Medical Center.
Memorial services will be 11:00 am on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Pelican Rapids, MN with Pastor Scott Block officiating. Interment will be at Bagstevold Cemetery in Erhard, MN under the direction of the Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji.
Darlene Toso was born on February 6, 1936 to Martin and Mabel (Weik) Toso in the Maplewood hills near Erhard, MN. Darlene began a lifetime of caregiving at the age of 11, when her mother died and she began to take care of her younger brother and father. She moved into town a couple years later to continue her schooling, and worked as a nanny for the Korda family, returning to the farm on weekends. Darlene graduated from Pelican Rapids High School in 1954. She studied at Concordia College and Wahpeton School of Science, graduating with a certificate in nursing. On February 11, 1956 she married Ron Olson and later had one son, Daniel. Darlene was also a “second mother” to many nephews and nieces who came to live with her and finish school while their parents were in the mission field in Madagascar. While working as a nurse for Korda Clinic, Pelican Valley Hospital, Darlene also helped with the family business, Olson’s Menswear. After Ron died in 1985, Darlene returned to school to become a Registered Nurse finished her career at the Pelican Rapids Clinic. In1993, she married Al Orsund and cared for him throughout his illness and eventual death. In 1999 Darlene married Don Rustad and they split their time between Pelican Rapids and Sun City AZ, where Darlene continued caring for friends and neighbors for years.
She is survived by her son - Daniel (Valerie) Olson of Bemidji,

Ryan (Fiance’ Caroline) Olson of Bozeman, MT,
husband – Don Rustad of Bemidji,
3 brothers - Erv (Alice) Toso of Pelican Rapids,
Duane (Carol) Toso of Pelican Rapids,
Neil (Bette) Toso of Mahnomen,
6 Step Children- Barbara (Dave) Wigstadt of Burnsville,
Phil (Cindy) Rustad of Plymouth,
Peter (Tam Sjurseth) Rustad of Zimmerman,
Ruth (Steve) Grant of Burnsville,
Lisa (Dave) Hill of Apple Valley,
Julie (Rob) Lahammer of Minnetrista,
16 step grandchildren and spouses and 8 great step grandchildren,
and many special nieces and nephews that lived with the Olson family throughout the years.

Darlene Mae Rockensock, 90 of Blackduck, Minnesota passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving children on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at Bemidji Sanford Hospital following an extended illness.
A memorial celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at the Evangelical Free Church of Blackduck. The immediate family will meet together at the church at 9:00 and greet her friends from 10-11 a.m. before the service. Pastor Dwight Warden will officiate. Burial will be at the Lakeview Cemetery in Blackduck.
Darlene Mae Kilde was born to August and Bertha Kilde in rural Blackduck, Minnesota on March 19, 1926. She attended Winan Country School and Blackduck High School. She met Herbert Rockensock while he was conducting evangelistic meetings at Hornet Town Hall in the early 1940’s. She came to faith in Jesus and was baptized at that time. Herb and Darlene were married on June 10, 1943 at the Blackduck Evangelical Free Church which was meeting at the time in the Mobile Station in Blackduck, Pastor John Goodrich officiating. The newlyweds traveled by train to Richmond, California where Herb was employed in the war shipyards and Darlene worked in a canning factory. They returned to Blackduck in 1944, and lived in Duluth, Leonidas/Eveleth and Blackduck after the war. They raised their family of six children in rural Blackduck (Taylor Township) where they bought their family farm in the summer of 1959.
Darlene enjoyed many activities throughout her life and various family events: baking, canning, cooking, gardening, her bantam chicks and her flower gardens… She loved knitting, walking in the country and ice fishing on Rabideau and boating with Herb on Twin Lake. She especially enjoyed spending time in the Word of God daily studying her Bible.
Any time her family gathered for a special occasion or party she was there enjoying her “folks”.
She was preceded in death by her parents, August and Bertha, her husband, Herbert in 1996, and her four brothers: Alvern, Joe, August, and Bill, and three sisters: Lucille, Myrtle and Florence; her son, Wallace, her grandson, Brett Rockensock, her daughter-in-law, Melba Rockensock and great-granddaughters, Etta Rockensock and Tracy Martin.
Darlene is survived by five children who dearly cherish her memory: Gerald (Arlys), of Hines, Minnesota; James, of Bemidji, Minnesota; Verna Mae Sutton (Ron), of Embarrass, Minnesota; Daniel (Jewel), of Blackduck, Minnesota; Phillip (Pam), of Sauk Rapids, Minnesota; and daughter-in-law, Cindy Rockensock of Blackduck, Minnesota.
She is also survived by two sisters: Verna Nicholson of Spring Lake Park, Minnesota and Jennie Hanson of Forest Lake, Minnesota and her brother, Cloyd Kilde of Cohasset, Minnesota. She leaves 18 grandchildren, 58 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. | KILDE, Darlene Mae (I9605)

Darlys M. Christy, 75 of Reno, NV passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2009. Darlys retired from St. Mary's hospital.
Darlys is survived by her daughters, Gail Almasi, Auburn, CA, Lori Peltier, MN and Dawn Smith, Reno, NV; sons, Gary Christy and Thomas Christy, both of Reno, NV; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Darrell Lamonte Wegge, age 84 of Grand Forks, died on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Valley Eldercare in Grand Forks. A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 29, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Amundson Funeral Home in Grand Forks. Visitation will be one hour before service time at the Funeral Home.
Darrell Lamonte Wegge, a son of Thorwald Wegge and Shirley (Thoe) Skeim, was born on May 30, 1933 at Buxton. He was reared and educated in the area. On June 17, 1950 he entered the US Army. Darrell served in the Korean war. On July 9, 1953 he was honorably discharged. After his discharge he returned home. On December 2, 1957 he was married to Beverly Quist. After their marriage they moved to Grand Forks where he work as a sewing machine salesman. In 1969 they owned and operated the Baseview Café in Emerado until 1974. Darrell started doing carpentry work specializing in cabinets and remodeling. He was a Semi-retired builder until he retired in 2007. Darrell had continued to make Grand Forks his home.
He enjoyed woodworking, cooking for his family and spending time with his grandchildren. Darrell was a Korean War Veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly at home; sons, Mark Wegge and Jeff Wegge; daughters, Sherry and her husband David Roe and Debbie and her husband Steve Raasakka; 10 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sisters, Lydia Kelly and Bonnie (Larry) Dvorak and a brother Gary Skeim. | WEGGE, Darrell L (I18435)
