4902 Daniel Dan Douglas Mayer, 53, of Pooler, Georgia and husband of Rebecca Lynn White Mayer, died Thursday afternoon, August 2, 2012.

Born in St. Paul, Minnesota, a son of Paul Mayer and the late Marilyn Mayer, Dan was a member of Woodlawn United Methodist Church in Garden City, Georgia. He was a dedicated machinist for Continental Field System and previously worked with Hobart Manufacturing in Richmond Hill. Dan loved and enjoyed his family and was an avid golfer, hunter and fisherman.

Surviving are his wife of 30 years, Rebecca Lynn White Mayer of Pooler, GA; three daughters, Jennifer Mayer of NJ, and Danielle Arnold (Micheal) and Jamie Mayer, all of Pooler, GA; three grandchildren; his father of Hinesville, GA; two sisters, Lynda Reis (Robin) of Marietta, GA, and Karrie Walker (Michael) of Savannah, GA; one brother, Mitchell Mayer of Columbus, OH, and nine nieces and nephews.

4903 Daniel Jay Rockensock, 62, of Blackduck, Minnesota died on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at the Fairview University Medical Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota, after a courageous battle with stomach cancer.

Dan was born on May 7, 1955 in Virginia, Minnesota, the son of Herbert L. and Darlene M. (Kilde) Rockensock. The family moved to Blackduck in 1957. He grew up and attended Blackduck schools, graduating from Blackduck High School in 1973. Following graduation he worked in the Erie Mining Company in Hoyt Lakes, Minnesota for a short time. Dan graduated from Bemidji Technical College in 1976 with a degree in Auto Body and worked at Muscatell Chevrolet in Fargo, North Dakota from April of 1976-May of 1977.

September 18, 1976, Dan was united in marriage to Jewel Helgeson in Blackduck. The couple lived for a short while in Moorhead, Minnesota before moving to Blackduck in June of 1977 to begin his career in logging; a good fit for a guy who loved to spend time outdoors.

He was a loving husband, father and friend to many and was always willing to sit and have a conversation and listen to others. Dan enjoyed any activity that brought him outdoors and he shared many fishing and hunting trips with family and friends. He was a very active member of the Blackduck Evangelical Free Church, was a member of the Minnesota Timber Producers Association and Minnesota Logger Education program.

Dan is survived by his wife, Jewel Rockensock; daughter Teresa (Wayne) Hawkinson and their children, Reagan, Kate and Mackenzie all of Andover, Minnesota; siblings, Gerald (Arlys) Rockensock of Blackduck, James Rockensock of Bemidji, Minnesota; Verna (Ron) Sutton of Embarrass, Minnesota, Cindy (Mike) Brown of Blackduck and Phillip (Pam) Rockensock of Sauk Rapids, Minnesota; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Dan was preceded in death by his parents; son, Brett; sister-in-law, Melba Rockensock and a brother, Wally Rockensock.

A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 9, 2018 at the Blackduck Evangelical Free Church in Blackduck, Minnesota, with Rev. Dwight Warden, officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday at the church from 5-7:00 p.m., with a 6:30 p.m. prayer service and also for and hour before the service on Monday. Inurnment will be in the Lakeview Cemetery in Blackduck.

4908 Darla Gilson has her incorrectly identified as the daughter of Knudt Iver Lockrem and Ragnild Hansdatter Stenbakken. That Kari was Kari Elizabeth Lockrem born 3 Dec 1872 {other sources say 1893} in Rice County, Minnesota. 4909 Darlene Carpenter Ireland, 85, of Jackson, passed away at the Sanford Jackson Medical Center on Wednesday, July 27th.

Darlene Mae Johnson Carpenter Ireland was born on August 3, 1930 in Independence, Iowa to Matthew and Mae Johnson. She graduated from Independence High School and worked for a time at the local bank.

After her marriage to Kenneth Carpenter on October 15, 1949, they moved to Glen, a village south of Aitkin, Minnesota. She was actively involved in the community until their move to Jackson, Minnesota in 1966.

Darlene was interested in people all her life and her many job titles show her creativity and passion: 4-H club leader; master seamstress; Deputy Registrar office employee; manager of Senior Dining; driving school bus for 20 years; started and directed the Jackson High School Band Flag & Rifle Corps where she was known as ‘Ma Carp' to all the young people whose lives she touched for 17 years. Everyone in town knew they could get a good Christmas tree from Darlene's Tree Lot, which she operated from 1966-1989.

Darlene was an avid flower gardener and enjoyed being a ‘Call Girl'-making reminder phone calls – for the local Garden Club until her death. She was a member of the United Methodist Church. Darlene loved being outside, bird watching, doing jigsaw puzzles, making ceramic village pieces, spending time with her dogs that she enjoyed so much and all things Christmas!

She and Jim Ireland were married on July 10, 1976. In 2009 Jim preceded her in death, as had her parents, four brothers, one sister, and her daughter Susan Sharkey Schneider.

Darlene is survived by her beloved brother Raymond Johnson of La Porte City, IA; son-in-law Robert Schneider, Santa Rosa, CA; children Steven (Becky) Carpenter of Jackson; Karla (Patrick) Thurmer, Cape Coral, FL and Karen (Don) Wells, Farmington, MN; Jim's children Jeffrey (Tammy) Ireland, Ft. Dodge, IA and Jody (CJ) Nailor, of Lansing, MI. Darlene was blessed with eleven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery.

4910 Darlene Hall, a resident of Little Falls, died April 18, 2010, at St. Cloud Hospital.

A Memorial Service for Darlene was held Wednesday, at the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls, with Pastor Steve Anderson officiating.

Darlene Martha Leikvoll was born Oct. 28, 1941, in Little Falls, to the late Roland, Sr. and Gladys (Franzen) Leikvoll. She was united in marriage to Duane Schwendeman Nov. 7, 1959, in Little Falls. To this union was born seven children. Darlene was remarried to James Hall Feb. 14, 1992, in Little Falls where they resided. Together they operated Darlene's Lil' Darlin's Daycare until retiring in 2006. She enjoyed trips to the casino, fishing, and attending concerts. Darlene loved spending time with the children, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Darlene is survived by her sons Dean (Cindy) Schwendeman of Westport, Steve (Shelly) Schwendeman of Little Falls and Jeff (Melissa) Schwendeman of Pequot Lakes; daughters Kim Schwendeman of Pierz, Wanda (Craig) Courtney of Minneota, Jodi Marshik of Little Falls and Kristi Schwendeman of Little Falls; stepchildren, Steve Hall of Arkansas, Karen, Kris, Kayla, and Kelly Hall, all of Minnesota; brothers Roland (Kathy) Leikvoll, Jr. of Brainerd and Dale (Sandy) Leikvoll of Pierz; sisters Delores "Toots" (Bob) Reichardt of Ramsey and Carol High of Brainerd; 31 grandchildren, 25 great- grandchildren, and one great- great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband Duane Schwendeman; husband James Hall; and brothers Don and Dick Leikvoll.
