In the 1937-1938 and the 1939-1940 Deerwood city directories, he is Roland Davis, a helper at the Deerwood Sanitarium.

Celebration of Life for Walter G. Bloch was held at American Lutheran Church, Windom, MN, on Monday, October 25, 2010. Pastor Ron Letnes officiated. Interment at Lakeview Cemetery, Windom, Minnesota.
Walter G. Bloch was born on January 30, 1923, in Westbrook, Minnesota to Max and Marie (Kobbs) Bloch. He was baptized and later confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church in Westbrook. He attended country school in Rosehill Township.
On April 2, 1945, Walter was united in marriage to Laurene K. Burns at the Grace Lutheran Church Parsonage in Westbrook. After marriage, Walter and Laurene farmed near Westbrook. In 1961, they moved to a farm seven miles north of Windom where they were involved in dairy farming. They retired in 1992 and moved into Windom. Laurene passed away on January 30, 2008. After Laurene's death, Walter continued living in Windom. In June, Walter moved into the Sogge Memorial Good Samaritan Society in Windom where he passed away on Thursday, October 21, 2010 at the age of 87.
In his earlier married years, Walter was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Westbrook and then transferred their membership to the American Lutheran Church in Windom after moving north of Windom. Walter enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, ballroom dancing, and shooting pool. Walter's greatest love and enjoyment in life was his family; especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his daughters and son, Cheryl (Rick) Gegorek, Summerland, FL; Joanne (John) Elston, Katy, TX; Debra (Terry) Otto, Aitkin; Todd (Beth) Bloch, Windom; Tonya (Todd) Knorr, Lamberton; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Orlein Jurgens, Windom; Dorothy (Wesley) Lindstrom, Currie; and Della Hoffman, New Ulm; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Laurene, two children, Terry and Paula Bloch; two brothers, Elder and William Bloch; and two sisters, Emalein Bloch and Hilma Anderson.
Casket bearers were James Patterson, Richard Burns, Bruce Leibfried, Marlow Jur-gens, Merlin Jurgens, Arlen Rossow and Pat Hoffman.
Honorary bearers were Walter's grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Wyatt Bloch, Nathan Kolander, Padaric Kolander, Oliver Elston, Zachary Bloch, Adam Knorr, Talia Otto, Madalyn Otto, Briana Otto, Isabel Otto, Erin Knorr, Stephanie Pita, Megan Ham, Abby Methven, Alicia Bloch, Finn Bloch, Tate Bloch, Bryce Kolander, Xyla Kolander, Boden Methven, Samantha Pita, Steven Pita Jr., Cash Bloch, Coen Hamm and Hudson Methven. | BLOCH, Walter Gustave (I10527)
