Came to the USA in 1885. The 1920 Census records say he emigrated in 1891 and was naturalized as a citizen in 1913.
Farming in Lincoln Township in Polk County at the time of the 1900 census in which he was recorded as Faste Walgren. The census shows him as 34 (born Sept 1865 in Sweden) and his wife, Anna K., as 33 (born Sept 1866 in Sweden). The couple had been married for 4 years and Anna had had two children, both still living. Those children were John R., 4 (born May 1896 in Wisconsin) and Simon F., 2 (born Sept 1897 in Wisconsin). Faste emigrated in 1891 (January 15, 1891, according to the 84-93 Household Exam for Frösö), Anna in 1895. Faste owns his farm without mortgage. Anna cannot speak English.
Int he 1910 census, he was still in Lincoln Twp. His household included his uncle, Per Nelson, age 73 and born in Sweden.
The Faste Valgren family was visited by the Census taker on January 6, 1920.
