From an article in the Rice County Journal, 25 Sep 1912 edition:

A sad and unfortunate accident occurred last week near Nerstrand in Goodhue County when Thelma, the four year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Knute Rauk, was burned to death. The child’s dress becoming ignited from the flames of a burning straw pile, there being no one near enough to save her with the exception of a little brother, who ran to the house for help, but by the time help arrived she was so badly burned that she died in a couple of hours. The father had set fire to a straw stack in the field some distance from the house and several of the younger children were watching the flames. The children came too near and the fire, burning off everything she had on and herself fatally. Death followed two and one-half hours after the accident.

Funeral service Wednesday 1 PM at Lutheran Church of the Redemption, 927 East Old Shakopee Road. Interment Bloomington Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday 1 hour prior to service only. Memorials preferred to Lutheran Church of the Redemption.

Burt died peacefully at his home on Saturday at the age of 95 years. Survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Minneapolis; brother, William B. Johnston, Jr., Hot Springs, AR; sister, Millicent Ellis, Coloma, WI; nephew, William R. Johnston, Neenah, WI; niece, Elizabeth Johnston and husband, Keith Carlson, Portland, OR.

Burt was born to William B. & Anna B. (Meyer) Johnston. He graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Business Administration and was a salesman for Remington Rand and later for Sperry Univac. He was an avid fly fisherman, photographer, musician and woodworker.

She was born on May 18, 1935 and she passed away June 15, 2014.Preceded in death by daughter, Debra Jean; parents, Glenn and Thea Dahlager; brothers, David and Donald Dahlager. Charlotte will be greatly missed by her husband of 59 years, Rev. Sherman Buschow; children, Daniel (Rachel), Pamela (Ryan) Potts, and Juli (Glen) Bakken; 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 4 brothers, 1 sister, and many nieces and nephews. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She loved her family deeply, and her love lives on through the many people she influenced with her love of her Lord Jesus Christ.
