In the 1939/40 Fergus Falls city directory, she was Marilynn Moe, high school student, living at 116 Bancroft Avenue East. In the 1941/42 Fergus Falls city directory, she is E. Marilynn Moe, living with her mother at 116 Bancroft Avenue East.

Her obit:

Marilynn M. Lee, 86, of Woodbury, Minn., and formerly of Fergus Falls, died Saturday, Sept. 12, 2009, at the Woodwinds Hospital in Woodbury.

She was born March 21, 1923, in Fergus Falls, the daughter of Robert S. and Judith L. (Johnson) Moe. She grew up in Fergus Falls, graduating from high school in 1941. She attended the University of Minnesota, receiving her B.S. in 1949, and her Masters in Social Work in 1951.

On Dec. 28, 1950, she married Owen M. Lee at Zion Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls.

Marilynn was employed with the Wilder Foundation in St. Paul from 1951 to 1988 as a social worker. She was serving as Vice-president and Division Director of Children’s and Family Services at the time of her retirement in 1988.

During World War II she held a technical position with the FBI in Washington, D.C., for three years.

She was formerly a member of the National Association of Social Workers.

Marilynn enjoyed playing piano, music, reading, and playing golf in her younger years. She especially enjoyed entertaining friends and relatives at their home on Lake Superior, near Lutsen, Minn.

Survivors include her husband, Owen M. Lee of Woodbury; a stepbrother, Luther Pederson; two stepsisters-in-law, Marian Pederson and Margret Pederson; 10 nephews and nieces; and many grandnieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Robert and Judith Moe; her stepfather, Rev. Elias Pederson; her grandparents: Charles and Mary Johnson, and Paul and Marie Moe; two stepbrothers, Reuben Pederson and Morton Pederson; and a stepsister, Henrietta Pederson Bye.

Memorial Service: 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, at Zion Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls

In the 1944 Minneapolis city directory, Ayner and Marlys lived at 4540 36th Avenue in south Minneapolis. Ayner was a salesman.

In the 1952 Spokane city directory, Ayner was a salesman for Matthews & Kerr. He and Marlys lived at E4004 Fairview.

In the 1960 Spokane city directory, he and Marlys live in Cheney, Washington. Ayner is a salesman for Dohrmann Hotel Supplies.

At the time of the census in April of 1940 she is still Emma Sams living with her mother and step-father in Duluth. She must have married Gustaf some time between April 15th and October 16th of 1940. There is nothing in MOMS for such a marriage. One of Emma’s cousins, brattland1 on Ancestry, says that they were married 16 Sep 1940 in Duluth.

Her obit said that she had lived in the Duluth area since 1923.

In her father’s obit, she is Mrs. Donald E. Robertson of Eden Prairie.

Robertson, Elisabeth (Challman) age 80, of Golden Valley, passed away on Sept. 6, 2008. Preceded in death by parents, Willard and Edith Challman. Survived by loving husband of 58 years, Donald; children, Scott (Jackie Swenson), Mary, and Lisa Roeder (Ashley); grandchildren, Todd and Bryan Robertson, Andrew and Benjamin Lawonn; brother, Roger (Jan) Challman; niece, Laurie (Joel) Rude; and many friends. Elisabeth grew up in Mpls., graduated from Roosevelt High School and Macalester College. She lived in Eden Prairie and Edina. Elisabeth loved their home on Lake Ossawinnamakee. She and Don moved to Covenant Village in 2004. Many heartfelt thanks to Dr. George Morrison and the caregivers at Colonial Acres.
