Born Adeline Ellanora.
Adeline Eleanor Tallman was born on September 11, 1920, in Webster, Minnesota, to George and Minnie (Thompson) Snesrud. She was raised in Webster, baptized and confirmed at Solar Lutheran Church, and graduated from Faribault High School in 1937. She married John W. “Jack” Tallman Jr. on June 21, 1938, at Solar Lutheran Church. After marriage they lived in Webster and Dodge Center where Jack operated turkey farms and Adeline was a homemaker and raised four children. They moved to Faribault in 1952 when Jack began his management career as General Manager of Faribault Turkeys, Inc. Adeline supported him in his career which took him to Rochester, Alabama and Utah. Prior to retirement Jack was the President of Norbest Turkeys. Inc., in Salt Lake City. Adeline enjoyed the opportunity to travel with Jack internationally with his job and visit children living overseas. Following retirement, they split time between Depoe Bay, Oregon and Green Valley, Arizona. Jack passed away in 1999, and Adeline moved to Northfield in May 2006.
In addition to raising her four children, Adeline was active in the Lutheran churches in Faribault, Salt Lake, Arizona and Oregon, volunteering, attending classes and singing in the choir. Adeline devoted her life to caring for her husband and children and enjoyed spending her time reading, going for walks, traveling, as well as baking pies and cookies for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include her children and their spouses: Beverly Lubbers of Northfield, Wesley and Joyce Tallman of Panama, Eileen and Jon Summers of Cambodia, Scott and Petra Tallman of Arkansas; 7 grandchildren: Laurel (Tim) Ley, Lisa (Tito) Warren, Elizabeth Summers (Christian Buhr), Sarah Summers (Eric Fudeman), Christopher (Kara Lee) Tallman, Joline (Rodrick) Thorton, Jessica Tallman; 10 great-grandchildren: Heather, Olivia, Austin, Colton, Blake, Andrew, Myles, Kendra, Madden, Dylan; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and her brother Russell.
Adeline passed away surrounded by her family on Friday morning, February 5, 2010, at Millstream Commons in Northfield, at the age of 89.
Services will be 1:30PM Tuesday, February 9, 2010, at the Benson & Langehough Funeral Home in Northfield with Rev. Janet White officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:00PM.
Memorials are preferred to Northfield Hospice or Rice County Humane Society.

Born Alfred Olney. Called Olney A in the 1910 census. Living with his sister Cora and her family in Madison in the 1930 census. Olney worked in the Feldmanns’ restaurant.
In the 1937 Madison city directory, Olney (wife Helen F) was a waiter for the Red & White System. In the 1939 city directory, he was a clerk for the Red & White System.
