Boline, Birdene "Bernie" Lou (Dame) Age 86, of Golden Valley. Born July 31, 1932. Died Nov. 13, 2018.

Survived by husband Floyd "Bud" Edmund Boline, children Michelle Dehn (Don), Bridgit Fiore (Paul), Floyd Anthony Boline, Danette Boline; grandchildren Peter Fiore, Christopher "Koko" Dehn, Alex Boline, Stephanie Fiore, Samantha Boline, Gabriel "Willy" Dehn, Mackenzie Sloan, Jared Boline; brother, Vernon Davis Dame (Chris).

Bernie was born in Walhalla North Dakota. She attended school in Walhalla N.D., St. Cloud Minn., and Hopkins Minn. In high school, Bernie was a cheerleader and acted in school plays. She was a Princess in the Hopkins Raspberry Parade.

Bernie met Bud when his sister, Marilyn, asked if she would like to write to her brother, a Marine in Korea in 1950. When Bud returned home on leave they started dating, and in 1954 they married. September of this year they celebrated 64 great years together.

Bernie worked as a flight attendant for United, Braniff and Northwest Airlines, and for many years worked as the CCD Church Coordinator at Good Shepherd Church in Golden Valley, Minn. She also worked at the Hennepin County Government Center as a sign language interpreter and gave tours.

Bernie loved to golf, coached girls softball, cheered at sporting events, drove to piano lessons, sewed dance and Halloween costumes, cooked endless amazing dinners, bandaged wounded knees and soothed aching hearts in a word Bernie's most important job was being an exceptional mom. Bernie took special happiness this last year singing with her daughter Shelly in the Giving Voice Choir. It gave her great joy to be part of this exceptional group of people.

Bernie was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Minnie Dame; stepmother, Florence Dame; her brother, Keith Dame; her infant son, Anthony Floyd Boline; her grandson, Kyle Boline; and grandchildren, Ryan and Theresa Fiore. Heartfelt thanks go to the special staff and caregivers at Sunrise of Golden Valley, and Park Nicollet Hospice, and Jess, for their genuine love and care for Bernie and her entire family. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years Dale, children Glen (Kitty), Sue Bermel, Chuck (Ann), David (Polly), Patrick (Erin); grandchildren Ryan (Rachel), Sarah (Balázs), David, Emily, Benjamin (Natosha), Lucas, Brent, Katie (Dan), Jake, Joshua, Gillian, Aidan; 9 great-grandchildren; sisters Jean (Ron) Berg, Jeanette Guzy, and many other family and friends.
