David A. Dale, born 9/12/34, died 8/18/05 after a brief battle with leukemia. He was a Sunday editor at the Star Tribune newspaper. He was in the newspaper business for 25 years. Owner of Bookdale Book Store. He was very proud of his 100 percent rating on eBay. Wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and squirrel wrangler. Survived by his wife, Joyce; three children, two step children; 8 grandchildren; 1 great grandson; one sister; two brothers; nieces and nephews; many friends and countless loyal customers.

Arthur was employed as a salesman for the Federal Electric Co. at the time of Joyce’s birth. At that time, the family was living at 4104 13th Avenue S.

At the time of the 1930 census, Arthur, 22, and his wife Gertrude, 21, and their daughter Joyce, 1-1/2, were living in a house they owned (worth $4300), at 3545 44th Avenue South in Minneapolis.

In the 1940 census, Arthur and his three youngest children were living with his widowed mother at 4032 11th Avenue S. Included in the household as a “lodger” was 42 year-old Anna Petrin. Arthur Sr. was a salesman for an advertising company. Anna Petrin was a machine operator at an underwear factory. Arthur was a high school graduate. Anna Petrin had had three years of high school. Martha had an eighth-grade education. Martha, Arthur, Barbara, and Art Jr. had lived in that same house in 1935. Because Arthur and Barbara and Art Jr. had lived with Martha at 4032 11th in April of 1935, even before Patsy was born, Gertie was probably living with Martha and Charles also in 1935.

September, 1935: Arthur's father dies.

November 24, 1935: Patsy is born in Minneapolis. Arthur and Gert live at 114 W. 33rd Street.

1936: In the city directory, Arthur and Gertrude live at 114 West 33rd Street. Arthur is a salesman.

March, 1937: Joyce is institutionalized at the Cambridge State Hospital. According to her death certificate, her residence at the time she was institutionalized was 114 West 33rd Street.

1937: In the city directory, Arthur and Gertrude live at 114 West 33rd Street. Arthur is a salesman for Pioneer Neon Co.

1938: In the city directory, Arthur (no wife mentioned) lives at 4032 11th Avenue S, his mother's house. He is a salesman for Pioneer Neon Co.

August, 1938: Gertrude marries Robert Marshall in Duluth. He is 23, she is 28.

1939: In the city directory, Arthur lives at his mother's house. He is a salesman.

January, 1939: Gertrude and Robert have their first child, Robert, born in Duluth.

1940: In the city directory, Arthur lives at his mother's house. He is an artist.

In the 1950 census, Arthur and his wife Anna and Arthur’s children Arthur C, 17, and Patricia, 14, live in South Harbor in Mille Lacs County. Arthur is an interior decorator in the painting business.

Arthur was a painter or painting contractor and lived in South Harbor Twp, Route 1, Onamia. He died of a heart attack. He was not a veteran.

Arthur, age 66, died at Mercy Community Hospital in Onamia. Arthur was the son of Karsten Henrik (Charles) Hendrickson and Martha (nee Bowe) Hendrickson. Arthur was born and lived for many years in Minneapolis. He was a salesman, often for sign companies, and a housepainter. Arthur's first marriage was to Gertrude Nellie June Anderson of Duluth on February 11, 1928, in St Louis County. The couple had four children, a son and three daughters. His second marriage was to Anna Marie Petrin.

Arthur was preceded in death by his parents and two of his children, Joyce and Patricia. He was survived by his wife Anna, his daughter Barbara and son Arthur Charles, and grandchildren.
