3214 Berith is mentioned on p. 104 of the Vang B bygdebok but she is erroneously referred to there as “Randi.” The bygdebok identifies her mother as Randi Eiriksdotter Kattevøl.

In the 1880 U.S. census, she is Berit Pedersen, daughter of A. Pederson and his wife Randi of Kerkhoven Twp, Swift County. The rest of the children shown for that family are quite a bit younger although there is a daughter Kersti, age 10 (so born in 1869 or 1870) born in Norway. That implies that A. Pederson and Randi were together in Norway before coming to the U.S. in about 1870. Their 10-year-old son, Gustav, was born in Minnesota.

In the 1910 census, she is 48 years old, has been married for 29 years, and has had 15 children, 14 of whom are still living, and 13 of whom are still living at home. She came to the U.S. in 1872.
