She will be deeply missed by children, Judy (Bill) Pothen, Len (Judy) Sandstrom; grandchildren, Chris (Heidi), Stephanie (Jerome), Tom (Nicky), Trevor (Marlo), Rob (Laura); great-grandchildren, Maia, Gabby, Holly, Shannon, Ian, Samantha, Teala; many loving relatives and friends. Interment Hillside Cemetery. Memorials preferred to the American Cancer Society.

At the time of his daughter’s birth in 1916, he and Evelyn lived at 605 11th Avenue North in Minneapolis. He was a 24 year-old baker who had been born in Italy. That daughter was Evelyn’s second child. The surname was spelled Melena throughout the birth certificate for his daughter.

According to the 1920 census, he came to the U.S. in 1905.

A Nick Melina married a Maria Cappella in Hennepin County on 2 Feb 1935.

In the 1940 census, a 52 year-old Nick Melina and his wife Mary, 37, also born in Italy, lived in Minneapolis. Nick was a candy maker.

He was living in Italy at the time of his son Robert Arthur Melina’s death in 1961.

He died from a self-inflicted shotgun wound to the head behind 2425 Penn Avenue North in Minneapolis. His mother was the informant for his death certificate.

Graduated from Minneapolis Edison High School in 1976.

The obit for Joseph J. Steffens in the June 13, 1974, edition of the Bonners Ferry Herald listed his widow and Edrys Steffens. The obit also listed among his survivors as three stepchildren: Roy Koski, Sandpoint, Mrs. Sally Holman and Dusty Tenney, Bonners Ferry. The obit said that Mr. Steffens had married his second wife, Edrys LaFountain Koski at Creston, British Columbia, on May 25, 1968. Joseph J. Steffens was born in St. Michael, Minnesota, on 24 Nov 1923.

At the time of his draft registration in 1918, he was a shipwright in Tacoma, Washington. He was married to Lillian.

In the 1920 census, E.E. Eberts and family lived in Tacoma where he was a carpenter in a ship yard. His wife, Lillian M, was 25 and born in Canada. Their daughter Muriel Yvonne was 2 years and 1 month old. The girl was born 14 Nov 1917 in Tacoma County. Her mother was Lillian M Richardson.

In the 1940 census, he and Mildred and Theron and Mildred’s father Albin live in Los Angeles in the same house that they all lived in in 1935. Ernest is a superintendent in building construction. Ernest had two years of college, Mildred had two years of high school, Theron had two years of high school, and Albin had an eighth-grade education. Albin was a mailman for a railway.
