23253 Vivian Jesse Severson, 80, of Cumberland died May 20 at Barron Riverside Manor. Funeral services were Wednesday morning at First United Methodist Church in Cumberland, with the Rev. Bruce Stunkard officiating and burial at Lakeside Cemetery in Cumberland.

Mrs. Severson was born Jan. 21, 1926 in Detroit, Mich., to James and Jesse (Lowell) Dunn. The family moved to Barron County in the 1930s, and Mrs. Severson attended Rice Lake High School. She moved to Milwaukee for a short time and then to Wisconsin Dells, where she worked at Badger Ordnance Defense Plant during WW II and then returned to Barron County and married Harold Severson in Cumberland on June 11, 1949. The couple lived in Cumberland, and Mrs. Severson worked at 3M and then at Falcon Drill for more than 20 years before retiring in 1986.

She is survived by three sons, Ric and Greg, both of Cumberland, and Chris of Rice Lake; a daughter, Judy Severson of Rice Lake; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Virginia Plockelman of Rockford, Ill., and Nancy Plunkett of Hudson; and two brothers, James of Michigan and Harry of Paris, Tenn.

Mrs. Severson's husband, Harold, died April 27, 1997. [Obituary published 24 May 2006 in the Rice Lake Chronotype, Rice Lake, WI.]

23254 Vivian L. Sondrol, age 81, of Glenwood and formerly of Sunburg, died Thursday, Sept. 20, at the Glenwood Retirement Village in Glenwood.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 24, at Hope Lutheran Church in Sunburg. Interment will be at West Norway Lake Lutheran Cemetery.

Vivian Lucille Sondrol was born on December 18, 1930, in Villard, Minnesota, the daughter of John and Florence (Eldridge) Adolphsen. She grew up in Villard, was baptized at the Villard Methodist Church, was confirmed at West Norway Lake Lutheran Church and graduated from Villard High School in 1948. On May 10, 1952, Vivian was married to R. LuVerne Sondrol and they lived and farmed in the Sunburg community. Vivian was a homemaker and later worked at Fingerhut in Benson for 10 years. From 1973-1977 Vivian and LuVerne owned and operated the Glacial Trail Supper Club in Sunburg. Vivian also worked at the Sunburg Cafe. In 1988, they moved to Glenwood and owned and operated the Reno Inn on Lake Reno. In 1996, they sold the Reno Inn and Vivian has since worked as a secretary for the family business, Sondrol Excavating. She enjoyed reading, traveling and dancing.

She is survived by her husband, LuVerne of Glenwood; one son, Steven (and Jeanne) Sondrol of Murdock; three daughters, Janice (and Charles) Nichols of Grove City, Karen (and Chuck) Huseby of Kerkhoven and Kathy (and Tim) Hanson of Sunburg; 14 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother, Richard (and Mary) Adolphsen of Villard; one sister, Geraldine (and Harold) Nowling of Sauk Centre; and one brother-in-law: Sherman Qual of Mahnomen, besides other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Sandra Qual and one granddaughter, Andrea Hanson.
