“Hjælper Moderen”, single, living at home in the 1875 Norwegian census.
Her father was on Nes when she was born.
She is listed as emigrating from Sakshaug on August 8, 1881, as Grethe Oline Andreasdatter Nes i Strommen, pige, confirmed 10 May 1873. She was apparently traveling with two other young women according to the church book, one of whom was her first cousin Gurine Berntsdatter Aarfold.
Travelled to Fergus Falls in 1881 and then supposedly lived in Fargo after her marriage, according to NÆSS.
According to the 1900 census, she had had 12 children, 11 still living. The child who died must have been born in about 1887, between Annie and Gustave. That’s what is shown here. In the 1910 census, the numbers were 13 and 12.
She died in Cass County, North Dakota, which is probably where the idea that she had lived in Fargo came from. | NES, Grethe Oline (I11588)
