21789 Thief River Falls - Mary Jane Kildahl, 81, died on Friday, March 26, 2004 at Innovis Hospital in Fargo, N.D.
Funeral services were held on Monday, March 29 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls with Rev. Mark Helgeland officiating. Casket bearers included Joe Drevlow, Royal Oyster and Chris Kildahl.
Mary Jane Maier was born on August 6, 1922 to Joseph and Marie Maier in Mitchell, S.D. She grew up in the Catholic faith in South Dakota attending parochial school, graduating in 1940.
She was united in marriage to George Olson Kildahl on June 10, 1950, in Mitchell, S.D. The couple lived in Minneapolis and Milwaukee for a short. They moved to Thief River Falls in 1953. Mary Jane began working at JC Penney in Thief River Falls in 1962. She worked there for over 40 years retiring in May of 2003.
Mary Jane was active in a bridge club for years, a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, and active in her Church circle. Mary Jane enjoyed reading, spring flower planting, and baking. Her children and grandchildren were of the utmost importance to her.
Survivors include one son, David (Gloria) Kildahl of Crookston; one daughter, Diane (Richard) Wilhelmi of West Fargo, N.D.; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband George in 1978; her parents; and two brothers, Joseph and John.
