21201 The 91-95 Household Exam doesn’t show any children other than Albin and Ivan. SUNDSTRÖM, Anders Henrik (I4260)

21202 The address that Cora had for Mamie in her travel diary (1953?) was 3035 Vancouver Street in San Diego. Cora also included the name “Frank Cassad” in that address.

In the 1947 San Diego city directory, Frank A. and Dorothy Casad lived at 3035 Vancouver Ave. He was a mechanic.

He was still with Dorothy in the summer of 1953 when Mr. and Mrs. Frank Casad announced the engagement of her daughter Vyonne.

In March of 1954, when he was Frank Anderson Casad of 8795 Cleburn St., La Mesa, he was one of nine motorcycle riders arrested for illegally riding on the California Riding and Hiking Trail in Cuyamaca State Park on March 7, 1954.

Frank A Casad, age 35, married Sally Pauline Calvert, 26, in San Diego on 30 Dec 1958. That Frank was Frank Anderson Casad, son of Benjamin Cecil Casad and Dora Leona Hileman. He was born 17 Mar 1923 and died in Port Angeles, Washington, in July of 2009. One of Frank’s earlier wives was Dorothy Lucille (Someone, possibly Manker). His last wife was named Peggy and he married her in 1989. He was called Pat and was a musician.

Frank and Sally had a son, Michael E, b. 20 May 1960, d. 21 May 1960, in San Diego.

IN MEMORY OF OUR PAT CASAD By His Children

Frank Anderson "Pat" Casad was born in Yakima, Washington, on St. Patrick's Day in 1923 to Benjamin Cecil and Dora Leona (Hileman) Casad.

Pat was the eldest of their three boys, with Benjamin "Cal" and Richard "Dick" following.

The family moved to the Bremerton area, where Pat finished high school and enlisted in the Navy at the beginning of World War II. At the end of the war, he settled in the San Diego area.

Pat worked for Buick as a service manager in San Diego for 14 years.

He met Sally Calvert in 1956 while they were both working at Peck Buick, and they married in 1958.

Pat gained an instant family, later adopting Sally's two small children, Greg and Shawnee. Together they had three more children: Pat, Michael (deceased) and Shannon.

Not wanting to raise the family in a growing city atmosphere, they made the challenging lifestyle move to an "off the grid" wilderness resort known as Lost Lake Lodge at 10,000 feet in Western Colorado in 1961.

To help support the seasonal operation of the resort, Pat worked as a crane operator on several large dam projects in Colorado (as a member of Operating Engineers Local No. 9), while Sally and the children operated Lost Lake in the summer and fall hunting seasons.

Winter closures meant moving and living where work for both could continue the "dream." The children thrived on an unusual upbringing giving them their knowledge and love of the outdoors that remains.

Hunting, fishing and life without basics -- like electricity or running water -- helped in making them the unique independent adults they are today.

The move to Port Angeles came in 1969, with Pat working for DelGuzzi Construction on many local projects, like the Elwha Bridge and high school gymnasium. Sally worked in real estate.

Family times were full with sports, 4-H, fairs, horse shows, parades and motorcycle racing (for both the Pats, young and old).

Pat will be remembered by countless folks who listened and danced to that mellow saxophone when Opus One played their big band music, or hearing him "get down" when he cut loose on "Bad Bad Leroy Brown" with the jazz group.

Survived by his beloved children and their spouses; the grandchildren: Gregory "Bear," Jackie, Lindsey, Shannon, Jamie, Kasey, Sarah, Brynn, Adeline, Alex, Shandra, Saren, Summer, Berrit, Bailey, Staci Jo, Cody, Courtney, Cassie, Connor, and Jake; along with great-grandchildren Tayler, Madison, David, Nevaeh, Elih, Angelina and Sari.

Others surviving are his stepdaughter, Vyonne Dommer, with son Brad and family; sister-in-law, Roberta; nephews, Skip, Steve, Bobby, Kurt, Chris and Tim and their families.

Preceded in death by his brothers, parents and son, Michael.

Whether we called him Dad, Grandpa Pat, Uncle Pat or "Maggio," he will live forever in our memories.

Pat fought a long courageous battle against cancer and other health issues, but did not give up on life or blowing that horn until near the end on July 6, 2009.
